“Thanks for the Invisible Blessings”
Text: 2 Corinthians 4:7-12
Thoughts to ponder this week …
- Do we count our blessings including only those things we can “count”?
- When we praise God we recognize that it’s not “all about us”
- “Jars of Clay”
- They are easily broken and are historically a symbolic of our human weakness.
- They are plain and common: we should not be discouraged by our imperfections because they will not hinder the plan God has for our lives.
- They are fragile: the focus is not our strength but God’s. Despite our weaknesses we are God’s chosen method to spread the Gospel.
- We can be encouraged because His grace is sufficient for us each day 2 Cor 12:9-10
- For clay jars to be useful they must be clean/pure: 2 Tim 2:21
- Our focus should be the treasure within our “Jars of Clay” as it is priceless – 1 Tim 6:20
- While we should thank God for our visible blessings as all good things come from Him we should focus primarily on the one who blesses us
- How can our current situation this week give glory to God?
